Portarlington Golf Club’s Contributions
The Portarlington Golf Club’s Community Contribution Fund continues to significantly impact the local community. This year, the club allocated $15,000 to support four deserving organisations, exceeding the initially planned $12,000.
Lifeline Geelong a crucial service handling over a million calls annually, received a significant boost with a $ 5,000 grant from the Portarlington Golf Club. This grant will be instrumental in training volunteer crisis supporters, enhancing their ability to assist Australians in distress.
Geelong Youth Engagement was also awarded $5,000 to support its mentor-based youth programs, including the road safety initiative “You Just Never Know”.This road safety initiative educates Year 11 students on safe driving habits and the dangers of reckless behaviuor, reching approximately 2,400 students each year.
The RSL Portarlington and St Leonards Sub-Branch received $2,500 for the restoration of the Pratt Room, a vital community space for veterans and public events. The funds will improve the facility’s amentities, benfiting veterans and the braoder community.
Over the past five years, the Portarlington Golf Club has donated ovver $150,000 to various causes, with the Community Contribution Fund alone contributing nearly $50,000. The club remains commited to supporting local organisations and making a positive difference to the the community.
